My chinois name

I just tell my foreign pen pals to write "Shane Wang", actually Wang is my family name. In Taiwan, the family name puts on the front. It's same as the Japanese name of system. And the letter I sent yesterday, she has introduced her name to me, most Japanese see her name in kanji would suppose that is a boy name. Then I told to her that her name in kanji in Taiwan would be popular to use for girls. She asked me why, and I replied to her, "友樹(Yu ki) can explain that you plant the seedlings which is named after freidnship in other's heart." Because 友 means the friend in kanji, and 樹 is tree in kanji meaning. So our girls would like to name after this kind of name. She was happy after I told her the different explaining.
So now I guess Linda would also curious with my name in kanji meaning. My family name inherits father's surname, Wang=王. It is easy to write and the meaning is "King" or "Winner".
Shih=詩, it means poem and poetry. In ancient Asian society, only the officials can learn how to write and read the books. At the beginning, my parents expected that I would be a versatile person when I was born. Or you also can think that my parents hope I could become a total person.
Ting=婷, it stands for the beautiful and wonderful. Because my parents choose this word, you can see the left part is 女 (it means girl), so this word is girly and popular to use in Taiwan. As for the right part's word "亭" also has the same pronunciation, it also means that you can get ahead in the life easily.
In Taiwan, our people like fortune-telling before name after baby name, also the name can show the parents' wishes.

Last, I have record the file for pronunciation of my chinois name.
