I feel satisfied and happy when I finished drawing. Maybe next time I would work the similar idea for the cover of envelope.
I hope this time their postman would not lose my letter.
This is the year of Dragon, and my zodiac animal is dragon. It is the favorite zodiac animal in my country. So I am happy to welcome my year, 2012. The above letter cover is Asian dragon looking. And he holds Taiwan which means he guards Taiwan. Compare to Western year, 2012, this is the 101 year in my country's calendar.
At the beginning, I think I should appreciate my Vietnam friend who sent a letter to me. And she shared a beautiful, romantic love poem in Vietnamese with translation for me. Therefore I also want to impress her for our culture. Especially I like stationary staff, it's good to share with her. So that is my Christmas wishes to Vietnam. I hope their postmen would also like the cover I drew on the envelope.
Still, waiting the letters and replying to the letters are still my hobby. Though I could through internet to keep in touch with foreign friends. However, sometimes I still feel there is something lack of but I could not explain. Maybe the letters are also a good way to combine my ideas. I try to make myself to be open-minded and to exchange different cultures. Sometimes I think internet is an another space to save time and shorten distance. I enjoy using the internet to broaden my horizen, at the same time, I still prefer to live in the real space. So I will reduce the time on internet space graduatelly. Perhaps I would plan to have a foreign tour every year or buy a car to travel over whole Taiwan.
Originally I finished the letter so early, but I wrote too many pages as 17 pages. Therefore I re-write and cut down many words. So there are 9 pages now.
I think the best way to introduce the Moon Festival is not for the text introduction only. Therefore I made a card for Linda. The following pictures are the frontage, leaf and the reserve side.
It's a sentence or you can say the poetic couplet which related with moon. I specially wrote the two styles of calligraphy. You can guess the meaning of the four pictured words. From the right to left, they are: fish, moon, bird and sky. As for the meaning for the poetic couplet, I am seeing the fish reading moon quietly and smiling at the bird chatting with sky.
I finally got the reply letter from Sweden. It is cool for me. Actually I think Northern Europe is also a good place for me learning something. And I have thought spending my time in Norway, Finland and Sweden separately. If so, the distance learning course would be a good choice to consider. Don't ask me why spend much time on Northern Europe. I think I am unfair to distribute my life on different culture. 10-15 years are for Europe, 5 years for Africa, 5 years for Arab countries, 5 years for South America, and I will also spend another 5 years to know Asia and Pacific Ocean culture. Learning is my grain of spirit. In this way, maybe one day I leave the earth, I would not feel regret that I waste my time.
And I think it would be interesting to make a watermelon card for my dutch pen pal, she would stay in Finland for a long time since summer. When she gets my card, she could decorate her desk and think of my sweet greeting. And our people usually drink a cup of watermelon juice or watermelon milk. It tastes really sweet without sugar.
This summer I received two summer cards to greet me in hot summer time. And they were both from Japan. I found a cute thing is that my Japanese friend likes to inform other Japanese friends when they sent the letter to me already. So I would know and wait for the letter.
Yoko is a person who I see and associate with forest. And we had many interesting conversation, other Japanese friends miss our conversation. I told her next time if I stay in Japan, she can speak Japanese to me and I would feel high pressure like before she listened to my English, and then I would do the same thing like her. Perhaps I would say, "sorry, my Japanese is poor ", and then run away. I think it would be fair.
Because four months ago I was in New Zealand, I wanted to reply to her my days in New Zealand. In this way, I printed my photos with my Japanese friends to her. Moreover, I gave her a postcard which I bought in New Zealand. I also write the hello in Arabic at the beginning of the letter and the envelope. I hope their postmen would see that and smile, and my letter would send faster to her hand.
Moreover, I printed the special photo which is a photo when I left and photographed on the bus to her. Besides that, the beginning of June has a big festival in Taiwan, that is dragon boat festival which celebrates and memorizes a patriotic poetry.
I hope the letter would arrive to her home no more than half month. I feel Africa is so far from Taiwan.
Because I usually write a lot and get a long replying letter with Yuki. I am a bit looking forward to meeting her. And she also wants to have her backpacker trip in my city as her 18 years old experience.
This time my envelope topic is ice cream but a common advertisement board in Taiwan and Japan. I guess Yuki would feel so familiar the icon I drew. In addition, this time I found we talked much deeper around race and nation. I estimate that I replied more than 2500 words to her. Still, I also cannot believe that I almost could not stop writing to talk her more. However, I am in final exam week. I think next time I still can talk to her more.
I thought for a long time to write something meaningful for Linda, because I don't want to write the short sentence and wish her a happy birthday only.
Anyway, I hope it could arrive to Holland in time. It would be better.
One of my habits is going to the stationaery store and buying cute staff. Finally this month I could buy this kind of fan shape birthday card. I hope my Japanese friend Yuki would like our stationary staff. Actually I wanted to wait for her replying letter and putting the card inside, but she was really busy for her midterm exam. In this way, I think I cannot wait for that day, it would be more late to arrive her hand. Perhpas this year I would have a chance to meet her in Japan. I am still not sure now, I have too many things to handle in this summer.
Today I got a postcard from Japan. And it is a Waka(Japanese poetry) written by a Japanese emperor. I love it and thank my friend, Yuki. Summer came, but I miss Spring. Also, four years university period almost passed. These days I was thinking about what will I be after another 3 years. So I spent most time chatting with friends but not for blog writing.
Besides that, I found a good topic to introduce my best Dutch friend. Through the culture exchange, I also can learn more words in English. In the past, I was weak to express our food, but I will continue to improve my weakness.
This month is a busy month for me. And I have many ideas to consider in my mind. I am so sorry that I did not update my life as usual as before.
So I think it is a good chance to introduce our aborigines culture to my Japanese pen pal. At present, there are 14 tribes to be regarded as our aborigines. I think I don't need to introduce all in one time. It's a good topic for us.
And because I replied to the letter since I was in boring midtern exam, when I finished has been for 17 pages. It broke my record. I drew a upside down world map for her and told to her how I think Taiwan and inform my other Taiwanese friends to change their world view. The first step is to upside down the world map and notice our other choices. Moreover, I also sent a sentence to her as gift. Truly, I don't mind the history what Japan did, and I could not change other countries mind; however, I thought she would not feel sorry for history. Now is present, because yesterday had become history, and tomorrow is too far-off always, only the moment now you can hold and cherish. So it is also a gift as present. I hope she would smile when she read the sentence I gave her. Furthermore, I only hope their scholars revise and correct their research in our people's group. Then history just let it go. At least, before we are clear to our identify, don't push us to chine's side and arms though you don't want to hold us tightly. We are still in confusion.
