Fly to Hengelo

I cannot download and upload too much to waste spaces buying, because my homestay's internet spending counts different way from Taiwan. That's why I took more than 200 pictures here, yet I didn't upload on my blog. My days in New Zealand are to study hard, walk hard and play hard. The class is from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., then 1 hour is for eating lunch. Next the afternoon class starts from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. After that, most students could leave the University of Waikato. Only my Uni's students still take course from 3:15 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. And our students representation are scored by teachers. The winter study tour's result can transfer some English course advanced at most for 4 hours.
I have sent several postcards to myself, but the time is in rush, I painted not well. Yesterday I joined the Hobbiton tour to Matamata movie set, the views are pretty there. And this afternoon I went with Wendy to Hamilton Gardens, I also bought some postcards and stamps. Just now I finished the postcard to Linda. Until now, I just sent to my foreign pals for two. After this week, I will adjust my schedule quickly and finish sending the postcards to my all foreign pen pals.

I hope tomorrow I would send the postcard to Linda.

Transfer Flight in Brisbane

January 25th, 2011 at Brisbane Airport, Sunny Day
After I arrived to another airport in Taiwan, the bad news came. Our original flight from Australia transfer flight to New Zealand was canceled. The fastest flight would be delayed for 5 hours. All of my group members were unhappy that, because it also means that we cannot arrive to New Zealand on time. And the time we arrived to there would be nearly 12:00 AM, no homestay family picked us up. Anyway, on the flight a TW girl who immigrants to Australia for 9 years sit next to me and we chatted a lot. In addition, her Taiwan's home is located in my district of my city. What a coincidence. It was a only good thing on the flight. So the first photo was taken in Brisbane airport.
The duty free shop in airport as follow photo.
Next is the public art building for travel to take a break. I think it has the sense of design.
The follow photo as you see, the sky is azure blue with light green grass. It's Australia.

I magnify to take another photo at last photo, after that I sent the post cards. That is my suck day on 25th.

The Second Day in Hamilton

Originally this time I just thought I would send the post card to myself in New Zealand, yet on the way my flight was delayed in Brisbane for five hours, my schoolmates played poker with me and then too boring to sleep in Brisbane airport. As for me, I took a stroll and found the postcards in Brisbane airport. So I sent to myself 2 postcards to remember my first stop and the unluck in Brisbane which is in Australia. I hope those postcards would arrive to Taiwan before Lunar New Year. What if some one asks me whom I loved deeply, besides my Mom and I, I think I really love my country since I was 20. However, I found I am similiar with German, I love it, but I dare not to speak out of that. All I can do is to write down my mood on my blog, and then try to be cold on politic aspect in real world. I admit it sounds so weird. Just let me voice my real thought.
After wrote four postcards to myself, I wrote the first postcard to my Japanese pen pal when I saw the lovely lambs picture on postcard. I think it is so kawaii and suitable for her. Tomorrow I will have free time to send it.

I still feel sorry that I was in hurry to reply the last letter to Yuki, because she went to Kyoto in New Year vacation and bought four Kyoto postcards to me. What if I still have many words to talk to her, I think I will send the second postcard to her while I stay in New Zealand.

Farewell Taiwan!

Now I am ready to go to Kaohsiung airport. And then I will via Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport to New Zealand. Last night I have seen some people protested the politics and then had a parade in my city. I felt sorry for them, but I have to make me better and then I would have enough power to do something.

However, farewell Taiwan!

Lunar New Year card to Algeria

Even I am busy this week, but I hope that I reply faster to Asma, because after final exam I will go abroad to New Zealand. So I think it's good that her letter arrived to my hand before 15th. The first photo is the letter from Algeria. Thanks for the postcard.
And tonight I replied more pages than before, because I mentioned to the new year topic and replied to her the parties in Taiwan.
As everyone knows that Asian has Lunar New Year, and I will show something to explain why we have weak atmosphere in lunar new year. In Japan, they must write the new year postcards before 25th December and send them. Basically they would write more than 100 postcards. And in Western, I also think it's common to send the Christmas cards. As for Asia would like to give the red envelopes with lucky money. But in Taiwan, we think the little money is dowdy, so mostly we dislike to give the red envelopes with one dollar whatever you see on Lunar New Year that day. In addition, since I knew that Hong Kong people don't mind whether the lucky money inside the red envelopes or not, they are still happy to give the red envelopes each other on new year vacation. And chine people usuaully get the red envelope with 1 RMB or 10 RMB(around 1.1 Euro), they are still happy. But why our people think the little money is nothing because of our national personality to keep on the face-saving and the number meanings. In this way, we prefer to give the 600 NTD, 800 NTD then skip to 1200 NTD(around 30 Euro) . Don't give the number which contains 4 and the cardinal number, because it's for funeral affairs. Moreover, we think we need to be filial for elders, so what if you give the red envelopes for parents or grandparents, mostly the number is 12,000 NTD and 20,000 NTD. We think those are auspicious number, others are bad omen. That's why the lunar new year some poor would be worry the economic situation. So we don't have the tradition to exchange the red envelope, that's for merchants and politician. Furthermore, in the past Asian need to wait for lunar new year to buy new clothes or goods, and the long distances to see other relatives; however, Taiwanese don't need to wait for that day to buy, in addition it's not far to see other relatives, so this festival has lost original meanings.
And that is the 1 New Taiwan Dollar inside the red card. 1 NTD is the only exception, because it involves into a phrase which stands for all things of the universe renew on unitary compound beginning. I never made the lunar new year card before, yet I think it's good to introduce our new year and culture for foreigners.
Last, the rabbit with calligraphy on the red card is a phrase which combines the pun in Taiwan. It means to show the capalities for great plan.

Nengajou from Japan

At last I recieved the new year card from Japan, they call it 年賀状(Nengajou). And it is postcard not for the card style to send. It's their tradition since 100 year ago.
This year is a year of Rabbit, besides Taiwan, Japan, Korea Singapore and chine, I think only Vietnam is special for the year of cat.
Actually in the past, most Asian wrote in straight way unlike Western horizontal way. I think it's culture difference to show on my blog. Besides that, this afternoon I also got the letter from Algeria, I think I will reply to her in two days.

Burma

What if last night I didn't find the Burmese horoscope, I would not fall into love with Burma. It's special for Burmese horoscope which counts from Monday to Sunday. But there are eight signs (the extra one is for Wednesdays) - Mon, Tues, Weds morning, Weds afternoon, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun.
In addition, they use 8 animals to be considered a reflection of the universe itself. efore you begin to cast your Burmese horoscope, check your day of birth.

You are very definite in purpose and energy and go-ahead spirit is in your mind and in your soul. You are very stubborn. Anything that is difficult and laborious interests you. You are a person who has a wide circle of acquaintances, but few close associates, as you do not make friends easily. You want to do work with some prestige and dignity attached to it. You are a natural self-promoter. You idealism motivates you to seek challenges and to dedicate yourself to great and worthy causes. You attract people because of your honour and strength of character. In character you are hasty of temper, impulsive, independent, and desire to be your own master. Your aim in life is to make a success of things. BUT Wednesday afternoon born are even more unpatient - that's what they say here!

Try to be patient, you will become the leader of the group. In Myanmar most parents don't want their first child born on Saturday - as they believe it will bring "unluck" to their partnerships...

After I tested it, I am a lion in Burmese horoscope. Yeah, I like lion this kind of animal. I have thought what if I could pet a lion baby, how cool idea is. I want to learn more about Burmese Astrology, so last night I searched the tourists information of Burma. It made me sad for Burmese people. I am impressed with a sentence that a Burmese boy told to our people, "please take me to Taiwan, I can do anything hard jobs". So what if I could complete my ideal, I would assist Taiwan to open to immigrants from Burma, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Santo Domingo

Finally I collected the lego toy which I wanted for a long time. That is Fort Santo Domingo. It was built by Spanish colonizers and Dutch East India Company, and this is a castle-like fort. That's why I like the appearance.
I just took several minutes to finish it. And I think it's the last city I collect. Because I don't like the Taipei's symbol, as for the symbol of Taichung city looks so great. However, Taichung Railway Station for me is the burial place of love, so this is not essential to me. Then now I have 3 cities, Kaohsiung city, Tainan city and New Taipei city, besides that, I will wait the limited train lego on 14th to take. I am looking forward that day comes soon.

The card from Indonesia

In fact, I really want to know what Indonesian think of our people. I also don't know why I care about their feelings. And I was happy to exchange the Christmas card with an Indonesian. As usual I opened the card to read, but the simplied chinois caught my attention. The reason is not because that the greeting is simplied but not traditional I used to read, just because the greeting word is so special. If you translate the hello in chinois, that is "you good"; however, you can see that I circled is "your mother" in simplied. In some way, our people don't like to speak rudely, then they would say "greeting your mother". I don't be angry for that, just I felt interesting and found that is not easy to write chinois.

Ant cave

Tonight I was busy for organizing the students works because the end of the semester. I think I would continue the busy situation until I go out of Taiwan. That is the only chance to take a break finally, and my life is like an ant to work diligent outside. Yet I would like to sleep all day long in my room.
There is a child to think that ants dig the treasures underground, that's why they need to work hard. Good job, I never thought ants dig the treasures. Another one thought that ant could ride the skateboard car, I also think it is a good idea, therefore I upload those art works on my blog. Later I would go back to organize the works again.

New Snail Pal

Last night I got a new snail pal who is from Sweden. Recently I was not longer finding the new snail pals actively. Yet last night a Sweden pal whom I just have talked with twice asked me for snail pal, I didn't think too much and agreed with her.
I think maybe not long ago an Austrien pal chatted with me, and she thought I have more Asian snail pals because I live in Asia, and she has more Europe snail pals because she lives in Europe. However, originally I aimed to find more Asian pals because I don't know Asia too much, the value I accepted is too subjective. So I want to know Asia from aother angle. Besides that, I have thought that I should add more European snail pals before I have a Dutch diligent snail pal. Since then, I didn't care to find more snail pals.
So this is the first letter I send to Sweden, I chose a postcard of Ali Mountain to introduce. And I hope the letter would not be short for her to read.
I really want to say that I bought many cute envelopes a month ago, and I think I should run it out quickly. Otherwise I don't have the excuse to buy new envelope style.

Take the road to Hengelo

After I received the big letter from Linda before Christmas day and she also got my Christmas card on Christmas Eve, I was so happy. This time we also waited for a longer time as usual to get the letter. I think it's the traffic jam of air-fight.

I didn't know that Linda would send the gift to me, originally I thought most Western exchange the cards on Christmas day. Therefore I would like to make a Japanese style New Year card to her in return.
And the New Year card opens, it would be like the following photo.
Besides that, I am impressed that Linda wrote in simplied chinese on letterhead. Therefore I wrote a page to teach Linda to write in traditional chinese.
Last, I have ordered the brown sugar with ginger, but because it is too heavy, I decided to wrap some into the resealable bag.
So that is the following photo. I want to claim that the brown suger with ginger melt into the water would taste spicy. However it is useful to cure the cold.

The card came from Thailand

This afternoon I got the letter from Thailand. I wonder to know whether they have other kind of stamp, yet it's easy to know that elephant is the symbol of Thailand. When I opened the envelope, I found it is a handmade card.
But the amazing part is not only the cover but the content. I also hope this year I would visit to Thailand, because I like Thai design style after I see the card.
However, I am clear to know that this year could not visit to Thailand, perhaps I would plan the Thai trip next winter vacation for 3 weeks. I am not very fond of travel, but I was talked over to broaden my vision. I love Thailand so much.

Just make a comment out

It's a midnight. I should go to sleep now in reason, yet I am wakefulness. Today I chatted with some people and had some personal feeling. First of all, I replied the message with a Finlander girl, and I found Finland's family has many children in average. Suddenly I made a self-examination for Taiwan's situation. Not long ago my class instructor had asked me how many children I would like to have, I still remember at that time I froze for a second and then replied none. Then he continued asking for 3 girls, they also replied the same answer. Finally, he said that our country has no prospective in the future. When I heard there are 5 children in my Finlander pal's family, and one of her classmate has 13 siblings, I could not believe it. So what if one day I want 4 daughters ( because I have 4 violins, I could give them each one to be dowry ), it would not be too many. But I don't want to be pregnant, therefore I need to pay more attention on alternative scheme. After all, I don't want to lead Taiwan no prospective. This is a dilemma to me.
Second, tonight I chatted with my schoolmate who is working in chine now. We talked about stock market and real estate. She has a positive toward her life, and she is older than me 3 year olds, that is why she usually gives me many suggestions in life. Mostly we exchanged the comment on viewpoints of investment and the information from different countries. Even though I don't want to limit myself in a frame of the future; in addition, I exclude the merchant as my profession from the bottom of my heart, I have thought of one day to be a patriotic merchant after I read an article "Please plant Taiwan in Africa." However, I am bad-tempered and irritable, so I need to play chess and learn something to be even-tempered.
Enterprise and family are both important, but I know I cannot eat the cake and have it. I have to make a decision or think a good way sooner or later.

Good Day!

Besides study, I am fond of investing. I believe all love money, but there is a difference to tell. So far the Asian foreigners I met enjoy shopping; in another word, they love costing money. But to me, I would rather use money on investment than spend money. I like to observe the consumer behaviors to understand the prosperity in the market.
I have read many books to find the common features between Taiwaner and other foreigners. Only the Jews love investments more than other countries, yet I found thier girls are not wild about that at all. It's different from Taiwan's girls. Of course, our girls love shopping, but we prefer to earn before costs.
Today I want to open the champagne to celebrate with the stock I invested limit up two days, and then I sold it out. The stock I invested is related with processing silk. I have observed this winter would be very cold, until I was sure that cold air mass would come many times, around 2 weeks ago I bought it.
So I think I could reward myself to eat lobster as a meal when I go to New Zealand. I have seen the photos on our bloggers, it looks so tasty but expensive. Thanks, cold weather and hot money in Taiwan.=D

I met the Indonesian in real

Actually I am very tired, so I think I don't need to keep the new entry this week. Yet today I met two Indonesian students in my campus. I think it is fresh and worth to keep an entry.
Because I was waiting the elevator, and I listened to two girls speaking the language which I cannot figure out, besides that, the speaking speed was very fast at that time. Then I asked them, "are you from Indonesia?" Originally I thought they would reply to me in English, but they asked me in reply, "how do you know?" with standard Mandarin Chinese; however, the accent would not think they are from China, because they speak our Taiwanese accent. I didn't think too much but told them, "I just guess so" in English. And then I have to go out of elevator, it's a pity that I am too nervous to greet with them in Indonesian. Also I forgot to ask them how they feel to live in Taiwan.

The second day in New Year

I feel sleepy now, all I want is to sleep, sleep, and sleep. Last month I was too busy, and this month still be. Until today I signed in my blog, I found last night I made a mistake for my first entry of this year. So embarrased. I guess I got a sleepy new year. Yet I am a little bit looking foward to late January. As everyone knows, no pain, no gain. Therefore I need to work hard this month and then happy still end of 2011.
I checked interpals today, and there was a message amazing me, a Russian girl told me that she got a drunk party in New Year Eve. So far I still keep driking alcohol at a respectful distance.
And because I read Linda's blog, it made think of my cute figure. It is one of my toys. My new year wishes are related with this figure.

That's imporatant wish to me, and then I hope that I could also find a week or 2 weeks leave to go abroad in 2011. I still prefer to visit Asian country first. Last, bless me this year I would have enough courage for Orthognathic Surgery. Because I am really afriad of pain. However, I have to face the reality. That's all.

New Year 2011

In Taiwan, we have a day off on the first day of a year. But this is not because we celebrate with Western New Year but has political factor. Sun Yat-Sen(a Cantonese)
overthrew the Qing government and established the Republic of China, which is R.O.C 100 years ago; however, at that time the Republic of China was in Nanjing of Mainland China, and Taiwan was Japanese citizens. Ironically, Sun Yat-Sen has the ambition to help Taiwan and Korea to be independent as a country. Yet ROC became a part of Taiwan for 62 years, last decade the former president tried very hard to change name as ROT, not ROC.
Basically I don't know that I should remember the lyrics of the country song or not, because in the lyrics just mentions KMT party to believe in their thought. It's same as for KMT party's song. However, I don't know that is a song for party in politics or for citizens of country. In addition, the flag of country puts the KMT party's flag inside to show the spirit.
Sorry that I don't want to shake the party flag to celebrate with ROC for establishing 100 years old, therefore this year I didn't count down with tv and then sleep earlier. I think I won't buy a little flag to New Zealand.
Since I knew Singapore people, they told me that they have 4 types of New Year: Western, Lunar Chinese, Muslim Malaysiaan and the Indian New Year. It gave me a good idea. I also hope that we could have 4 types of New Year, Western New Year would not be political festival. And then Lunar Asian New Year. Third is in July for our aborigines (High-mountain). Last one I still not have idea yet, perhaps for the major foreign spouses' New Year or in October for our Pingpu(Plain obrigines)'s New Year.
Anyway, today I still had a tutor for 3 hours in afternoon, then I got the salary as usual in the beginning of a month, this is a happy thing. And I hope next Monday I would get the New Year card from Yuki, my Japnese pal.
