Victoria Street

So far I recieved 31 postcards in total, but I remember I lost 1 postcard on Febuary 2nd to record how I met my Japanese neighbor. I hope it would arrive to Taiwan soon. Don't get lost in New Zealand.
This is Maori culture. Acually most people like to buy the postcards for beautiful scenes. But this time I bought some Maori related culture postcards. When I entered into the Waikato Museum, I held back the tears to look Maori history and culture. And then I think New Zealand government treats Maori people very well, I can see many things written in English and Maori language. However, compare to our government, we treated aborigines very poor. I cannot see any aborigines langauges common in Taiwan but only chinois or sometimes I can see English.
Perhpas it was a right decision long time ago they left Taiwan toward to New Zealand. The so called aboriginal art in Taiwan is worthless, yet in New Zealand, I can find most souvenirs related with Maori culture. I feel ashamed our policies to treat aborigines. When I heard many kiwis can count their birds name in Maori calling way, I feel more ashamed for myself. I don't know what did I do in the past 22 years.

Rainy and Unlucky Day

Some postcards via Singapore back to Taiwan, I found the post mark and the post sticker with Singapore. And I like this postcard as the impression of Hamilton.
January 28th, the 5th day I left Taiwan, and I got lost in the city of Hamilton then wandered two hours by Orbiter bus. Because my schoolmate almost cried to tell me that she didn't know how to go home, and then I took the bus with her and send her back first, after that I lost in the city. At the same time, it rained and I felt so cold on the bus. I also met 3 strange white girls to talk to me and then I found I was photographed. Until the bus has bus driver and me, he asked me where I want to go. Then we started chatting for more than half hour. Thankfully, Kiwi's cashiers and bus drivers are nice to me. So I feel warm. However, I felt tired when I went back home, Shazz' cat also warmed my whacked heart.

The starry night

Becuase I didn't plan to visit the Waitomo caves, therefore I bought a postcard to appreciate the view.
The coversation I had with my homestay mother, Shazz, is very deep. We talked about her family, dream and life. She tore several times when she mentioned her family. And she also likes to watch the starry night, same as me. I usually stare the stars at night. On that night, my homestay boarding called me out to watch the starry night. It's the most beautiful I ever seen, because they have lower houses and no light pollution. Moreover, Southern Cross is located in Southern Hemisphere only. Finally I saw the Southern Cross.

27th of January

Haiz~ I didn't take the hot airballoon in Hamilton. Because I wasted many days in Hamilton and Japanese students cannot change the date for me. So sad, but I will try many outdoor activities later.
And I draw the Uni of Waikato on my postcard. The campus is big and I got lost several times here.

The morning time I have to go to the TTH Houses 4 to take my course.

Second Day

The second day, we ate the first breakfast in New Zealand. I think I am lucky to find the scrambled eggs as my principal food. I love eggs only without bread. But what if I can eat steamed eggs, I will be more happy than scrambled eggs.
So the postcard is the city for Auckland, it's a city of sails, and after that I also had a trip in Auckland for two days and one night. I personally like Auckland more than Hamilton I live.
Because this is the first day I saw a flock of sheep and a herd of cattle, therefore I took my postcard to draw when I on the way in bus. As for my schoolmates, they still crazy praised how beautiful sheep and cattle are, and they photographed the same views for 2 hours. Okay, I admit I am abnormal. I really want to ask them that they can think the ground is beautiful, but can they three stop saying that Taiwan's view are ugly? The differences are the color of green, here is light green for ground, and Taiwan is emerald green for many mountains. They don't cherish the mountains in Taiwan but think all foreign things are better than Taiwan. I really want to ignore them.
About this postcard, it has a story. Because I didn't know that there are the domestic and international stamps in New Zealand. I bought the domestic stamps to paste it on my postcard and then sent it into the mail box. I even went to the post office to ask their people how to deal with this problem, they just replied to me it depends. Perhaps this postcard would be lost in New Zealand. Fortunatelly, it came back to Taiwan in my home now.

The first night I stayed at hotel

The first night I arrived at Auckland and then stayed at the hotel. All were tired and just wanted to take a shower at that time, and I wrote a postcard to me when they were eating instant noodle and shower time. My schoolmates laughed at me that I do really love buying postcards. It's true.
Because I only had the 15 minutes to finish the postcard, and then my schoolmates turned off the light, I only wrote to myself and another one has sent to Japan. I feel sorry that I draw so ugly for my stitch doll. Sorry, don't bite me when I sleep, stitch.

At Auckland Airport

Until we arrived at the Auckland Airport in New Zealand, it was very late around 11:00 P.M. And our teacher had to check our inn with airplane company. All of our students had to wait, as for me, I still went to the shop to buy a postcard to write quickly.
Most students think they need to take many photos and the photos should have their face and pose to show they have been there. For me, I prefer to send a postcard to myself. I can write down my feeling or just a journal. The postmark and the date stamp also can prove that you have been there. Also, I feel that I am a flâneur when I depart from Taiwan. So I want to send the postcard which is named of the love and missing to Taiwan. I feel like I am a sailor who parked at the harbour to take a rest; however, the sailor is still missing that little island.

First day out of Taiwan

I went back to Taiwan and my Mom asked me how many postcards I sent back to myself. She is smart that I used to send the postcards for several days in one time. Of course my Mom laughed at me because of postcards. I sent the postcard since the first day I left for Taiwan. It was 25th January, and we had to transfer via Australia to New Zealand. On that day, I was in Brisbane airport which is located in Australia. Our flight delayed 5 hours, all of us felt tired at that time.
And the second postcard I wrote is the Kangaroo as follow. It's Australian aboriginal art.
When I stayed here, I really wanted to see one of my friend, she studied in Brisbane for 5 years. As for my cousin lived in Sydney, it's too far to see her. After I stayed in New Zealand, I think the sky of Australia is more blue than New Zealand. Mostly New Zealand's sky is grey blue, only the noontime you can see the azure blue sky.
