Butokuden is written 武徳殿 (ぶとくでん) in Kanji and Japanese, it is similar as fencing hall and boxing hall, and Japanese has built a lot of Japanese style building in Taiwan, it's a pity that the Chinese ruler hate it, then after Japanese left Taiwan, they had demolished. Currently we only can see the Presidential Palace and a few government agencies to retain. In addition, now they even have had no change for gutters and water lines, it is already used for 112 years. But no matter how much the Chinese demolished Japanese architecture, they will never exterminate the Japanese merits in Taiwanese' mind.
Butokuden is used to be the place for police and other people training the spirit and the material art in Taiwan. Before I chose the Aikido to learn, but I really want to learn kendo one day, and I will go in it to practice kendo.
I believe that most of people know the ninja and samurai of Japan impression. Miyamoto Musashi (宮本武蔵) is the most famous samurai in Japan, and there are 3 people to be his 11th-generation descendant, one of them is from Taiwan, Chan-xin-huan (陳信寰), he said that he was a Japanese last life in public report, and the most great thing is he is teaching kendo in this butokuden now. I think I could learn from him in the future.
